Supper with the Cain's

Tim and I decided to take Mom, Mom Cain and Pa Cain to supper. For Pa's birthday and Mother's Day.

We weren't sure where we wanted to go. We had several options. Western Sizzlin'. Olive Garden. Texas Roadhouse. Logan's. Cracker Barrel.

We didn't know how we'd all get there either. With gas prices so high, we wanted to all go in one vehicle. But we know Mom Cain likes to sit in the front so she won't get sick. And the rest of us are pretty good sized. Well, besides Pa.

God has an amazing way of working things out, doesn't He? Turns out someone backed into my car.

Again. *grr*

This time, not so much damage, but enough to put it in the shop for a few days. And have insurance (not mine) pay for a rental. But the insurance company was going to pay for an "intermediate" size car. Do you know what they consider to be an "intermediate" size car?

A Ford Focus.

Yeah, right.

Could you see ME in a Ford Focus? I didn't think so. I couldn't either.

But for $5 more each day, I could upgrade to an Impala.

Great! Last time I had a new Impala. LOVED it! Kind of made us want to go buy a new car.

So, I get Jonathan to take us down to Enterprise in Seneca to pick it up. We had some errands to do in Seneca, and we were going to meet Chris and Judith in Clemson, so why double drive, right?

When we pulled into the parking lot, I didn't see an Impala.

But I saw that Ford Focus. Yikes!

I went in and the lady asked if she could help me. I told her I was here to pick up an Impala. I stressed the word "Impala" The guy I spoke with on the phone came up to the counter.

He told me the Impala didn't come in, but he could give me a mini-van for the same price. Good deal!

So, we ran around Seneca and Clemson to do our errands on Friday. We picked up Chris and Judith in Clemson Friday evening to head to the Jeff Dunham concert. (Completely hilarious, but he could tone down the language. A lot.)

Oh, the title of this post was something about supper, wasn't it? Yep, so it was.

Turns out we had a mini-van to go to supper in. Mom Cain could sit in the front. Poor Pa Cain had to sit in the very back. Sorry Pa. Mom sat in the middle. Tim took turns sitting with Mom in the middle seat and with Pa Cain in the back seat.

We went to Golden Corral. Yum! It was really good. We all ate (probably too much), then sat and socialized for a while. It was so much fun. All of you who live far away don't know what you're missing not being able to join us for supper. :)

So, God worked it out for us. I got to drive a new minivan for 5 days. I got my car fixed. (And they washed it too! Too bad they didn't vaccuum it out.) And we all were able to go to supper in one vehicle.

God is good, isn't He? Even in the small stuff.
