We're slackers

... well, at least when it comes to updating a blog, we are.

We've been crazy busy since... well... for a long time. I haven't even posted about my Mom's Big 60th Birthday Party. I didn't post about mine and Tim's wonderful day away for my 40th Birthday.

*sigh*

Maybe I'll do better next year.

Another Sad Day for Braves Fans

Skip Caray, legendary Braves announcer, passed away in his sleep while napping yesterday afternoon.

Rest in peace, Skip. You'll be missed.

Happy 75th Mom Cain!!!

What an awesome time we had on Sunday! The best part was we were able to keep it a SURPRISE!!!

It was great to have (almost) the whole family together to celebrate Mom's birthday! Sure, it was early, but you have to take care of things when you can nowadays!

And Mrs Zonelle got to come, too!! I think when they picked her up is when Mom started getting suspicious about stuff. *giggle*

Tim and I rushed through 3 grocery stores to find all the food we needed for Sunday. Who'd have thought it would be so hard to find beef roast?

Mom loves my roast beef and rice, so we planned the menu around that. We had roast beef and rice, green beans, corn on the cob, creamed corn, cooked cabbage, rolls, Boston creme pie and strawberry shortcake. Yum! Yum! And it was good even if I do have to say so myself.

I would promise to post pictures, but I think we all know how slack I am at doing that.

But we all had a great time and it thrilled Mom Cain to pieces!!

It's been a while

It's been a while since I posted, but we've been hugely busy.

We had our Men's Banquet on Saturday. It was fun, but I'm glad it's over with. I'll try to post more about this later.

This Saturday we're taking the Youth Group to the Braves/Mariners game.

Next week I have a wedding.

The next week is July 4th week.

Man, it's always something, isn't it??

Sad day for Braves Fans

John Smoltz has announced he'll have season-ending surgery.

Pardon me while I mourn the season.

Finally! But it's just the beginning!

We have finally finished painting the library. It's all blue now. It's only taken us 6 months. We'll post pictures when we get a chance. Maybe.

Now, we need to paint my office (pink), repaint the front bedroom (sunny yellow) and the kitchen / den / eating area (some color of green we're not sure of, got it off the Oops! rack). We still need to fix the hole in the sheetrock in the hallway. We need to get the windows sheetrocked over. We need a new roof. Or at least a repair. We need to remove some of the cabinets in the kitchen to move the refrigerator and freezer in there. We need to sheetrock the back room (once Paul's things are completely gone... he has until Saturday). There's a LOOOOONNNGGG list of things to do!

If I can get someone to show me HOW to do the things, I can do them. Too bad Tim's not the 'handyman' type. My brothers have the brawn, but they aren't very 'handyman-ish' either.

Maybe I can read up on how to do the things and let the brawny guys do all the work.

Yeah, right.

I'm too OCD for that to happen. I have to be right in the middle of everything. I won't even let poor Tim put together a bookcase by himself. Maybe he's glad about that? I don't know. I should ask him. Or not.

Anyway, we're in the midst of getting things done in the house.

The outside is a whole 'nother story!!
